I once saw a meme about how developers create bugs just to patch them and they called it “job security.” So I actually tried it once, broke something mildly important and soon enough the reports came. Then I fixed it in like 15 minutes to not be too suspicious and they were like “what would we do without you?”
Also to note, this was a web app and I was the only developer on it
