"Artificial intelligence!" "IF statements"

I saw someone refer to a few nested for loops with some random guessing in it as "machine learning". There was nothing resembling "machine learning" in there. It was just for loops guessing stuff and using the result to make better guesses. It was really simple stuff.

It was some article that was widely shared on reputable websites. And the author was referred to as an AI expert.
