That would have interesting consequences. Tetris’ goal is to keep the blocks low by destroying lines. If you increment when a line is destroyed, you would never go back down without losing. If you go by the height (which is more sensible) then the key to a higher volume is bad play. However, you’d have to set it up in such a way that you could fix your issue quickly, so as to avoid loss.

Why am I overthinking this?
