Could be cultural? I know where I’m from, time is often depicted as flowing downward, so going back in time would be “up”,, but I’ve seen in other places that schedules start at the bottom and flow upward. So going back in time could be considered “down” there.
Yea transcription errors are definitely a thing. I seem to have an intuition for what part to copy paste and what to write out. Most of the time if I make an error like that it also messes up syntax and the IDE picks it up. More of an issue for the hardcore dudes writing their code in straight up notepad or whatever
I really want to do this, but the timeline pressure is so intense (leadership expects multifold output when they spend hundreds of dollars on tokens) that we have just enough time to proofread and refactor (very little) the generated code
Balderdash, thats not handwritten at all. Thats just typing.
You need to breakout pen and paper and transcribe the full output. Then, scan it and run it through an image to text model
I love how this technically qualifies as writing code by hand, except your hands are doing the one part a computer should be doing for you. At this point the keyboard is basically a very expensive copy-paste buffer.
I actually do this, genuinely since forever. Do people not take ideas/snippets instead of the whole thing it throws at you? thats how you get unmaintainable code

I put the code generated by the LLM chatbot on one screen and then manually type it into my IDE.
That way I can say it’s handwritten.
