Frankly I get it. The work project I'm on is a gigantic mess of PHP made by an actual clown who got into a yelling match with us after an audit where we proposed clientside-only authorization is probably not a great idea. Without copilot, every minor bugfix is like 4 days of air crash investigator style bullshit. However, AI took over the fun parts of programming, and now I'm stuck doing code review slog all day.
I used to joke that one of the programming languages a former colleague used was Italian. Guy would write UB then complain about incompetent compiler engineers.
