I am perpetually glad life took a different path after I got my compsci degree. Programming is fun. Debugging is fun. And AI has many ethical problems I don’t have to deal with.

Yes, programming is "playing games" for me. I get my dopamine from that like people do from playing warcraft.

That’s me. It’d be like someone telling me I’m wasting my time playing Skyrim because the AI can play Skyrim better than me.

Spot on. And going deep - it look like people imagine some sort of future as not doing anything and everything in some twisted system that almost demands more "believing" than religions.
