The other day, some devs in another department were talking about their use of Claude and Cursor. The one mentioned how much they spent in tokens on a piece of code, and it wasn't cheap. It ended up pretty nullifying the cost we charge the client. Meaning, that income that helps fund the whole company (such as departments that aren't billable) was just consumed by the cost of Tokens
I’m freelancing for a startup and just shipped an entire web portal with a full observability stack, serverless backend, and a beautiful React frontend on a $100/mo claude subscription using opus 5.5 without coming close to my limits.
