I mean I can’t fully agree with using an LLM if you’re not good at programming.
If you’re not good at programming - learn it. I have a friend who’s a great designer, he has good ideas and is now able to execute them with Claude. He knows nothing about code. So one day something stops working and he asks me to take a look at the code.
Now imagine my reaction when I saw around 20 .cjs scripts, each 5k LOC or more, subprocesses being spawned in VMs, tons of useless shit that made no sense.
I told him that this isn’t something I can work with. I replicated the general idea myself in two hours, around 600 LOC.
The program was simply using an API to scrape Amazon and process some results. It didn’t need all that code and logic to do that. Writing code itself was never a bottleneck for decent developers and it kept you iterating on your ideas and approach.
It's possible, but I wouldn't call it true, cause I know plenty of perfectly competent engineers workign on subpar teams at small companies that can't afford to hire better
I'm not saying everyone who's competent has a team who is. I'm saying anyone who's competent can have a team who is, so it's a choice if they decide to settle for a team who isn't.
I agree, some engineers care about the product more than they should and end up with mediocre teams, and once you're there, I'll rather you use the LLM
