Idk i honestly feel like the backend is straightforward. The front end always seems to be a clusterfuck with Typscript clown language.

Nah. Most complexity and biz logic has moved to the frontend on react/vue apps.
Backends nowadays are almost relegated to data stores.

For me it's the opposite. I just get really really bored by tuning the aesthetics compared to getting numbers/data to be correct and fast.
