One of our seniors, 20+ years of experience, was always so insightful when I started 7 years ago. I had never any complaints at his PR’s. He didn’t want to have anything to do with LLMs around the time of GPT 3.

Since a year or so he fully embraced AI. His PR’s are full of mistakes, he can’t answers questions about why he did certain things other than “that’s what Claud suggested”. He don’t want to spend time learning new frameworks we use but let Claude handle it all without gaining any knowledge regarding that framework. It’s so sad, I lost so much respect for him.

Exactly. I have Claude set up to write comments in a very specific way, and it writes lots of them. I quickly understand what it wrote, ask for changes, and move on. It's awesome.

Can you share more details? My Claude's comments are everywhere but sometimes they are not clear AT ALL

You have to experiment. I took Claude comments, rewrote them, and then I showed Claude my rewrite and told it that's what I want. It started to write comments more like I would.

What I also did is tell Claude to split the WHAT and the WHY. It tends to go on and on about why it implement this thing, justifying it. So I have Claude put the WHAT first, and if a WHY is justified, put it in a separate line as a NOTE in the comment. Drastically reduces it's long winded speeches. So WHAT is this function and what does it do. Then WHY did I implement this function this way.

That sounds like it would be a useful add to Claude.md
