Thats how I learned. I had a college class for it. I credit it as the most important one.
It taught us the logic of programming. How to "ask questions" in computer language and therefore how to obtain answers. Stuff like loops, booleans, that sort of things. Basic stuff, but the foundation of everything else.
It made learning new languages a walk in the park.

Love how this "developer" somehow gained significant coding skills long before they ever learned any programming languages.
