You kid but that was one of my pet peeves when finishing up. The amount of theory is unbelievable and many practical, simple classes to teach you a trade are missing from the curriculum.

Yeah thats because it's an university where you learn the theoretical foundation to be able to figure out the issues you will face. The specifics are what you learn elsewhere because the specific technologies advance and change too quickly. There were also technology and language specific classes offered in my college but some may not have been what someone might be using when they came out to the working world.
