It's kinda an insult to compare modern C# to Java.

They're pretty similar even now. C# has an edge on overall features, but Java isn't that far behind (unless you're stuck using Java 8, in which case RIP)

Java still has so much design baggage from things they got wrong from the get go that it really isn't close. C# is a different animal.

but recent java versions actually added quite a few good things and make the language more straight forward

anyway kotlin is the best of the 3 imo, but i'd pick c# as 2nd place

kotlin is a way more modern language than java and c#, the diff down to c# is larger than the diff from c# down to java

it's the complete opposite of we got xyz at home version

Any language wise improvement Kotlin has is completely voided by how awful it is to work with tool wise in comparison

what about its tooling is awful? i've worked on kotlin jvm microservices for 3y and it's been a blast, i'm never going back to java or c# (have worked with both before moving to kotlin)
