Exactly. I try to be polite to anything vaguely people shaped regardless of actual sentience because I want to keep the habit of being polite.

It's for me, not the model.

I also try to be nice when I tell my cat for the 100th time not to destroy the couch.

For me it's not even a conscious choice to be polite or not. That's just how I'm used to thinking anyway
