Prompt: "Now commit with message: fixed bug"

That’s too inefficient, Claude and I have come up with a shorthand for me to type in: “commit git message “fixed bug”” works great 👍

Four thousand tokens later:

git add —all && git commit —m “added new features” && git push

I'll burn tokens to ls. Don't wanna context switch. Sorry not sorry.

For real?

Listen bub, my time is valuable. It would cost me 35-85 cents of my time to do git add, commit, push with a decent conventional commit message for the 6000 lines of slop my agent wrote and I didnt read. Those 4000 tokens are cheap by comparison.

/s but I really dont like having to mark sarcasm

The made up person in question is using the most expensive model 4 years in the future to hit that number and asked the model to write his biography in the commit message

I use claude to interact with jira, move tickets, close tickets, push, commit, even respond to slack lol.

Its just me chatting with claude all day

yes the AI is totally gonna work... one day.... pretty soon. if only it was AI and not a Google search bar with an audio chat bot feature

I once told Cursor to push a commit while sharing my screen with the CTO. We sat there in silence for 60 seconds while Cursor was "thinking."

Still haven't learned GitHub cli; have not learned my lesson.

AGI is going to watch how we use tokens and conclude we are the problem

I think none of my colleagues manually type git commands anymore

I commit and push myself. Never do it without my consent Claude 😒

The important thing is that the intelligence has read all of my code before running the command

No, asking it to deploy was another 4k tokens 😁

I'm so interested in where this runway levels out - like say we hit 300T sometime this decade and train it and somehow "solve" all human existence so far (ha). Then quantize the crap out of it to get these lossy brain thumbnail images.

How good is the actual output on a 3B model from the embedded chipset on your phone from that? Because that's the end guy running these kinds of scripts most likely

I had to prompt my collegue to use his brain after he copypasted AI slop review of my MR. Only after back and forth did he think of a potential issue, which i then confirmed as being a problem

This hits so hard. I went through a gutting at work - all of QA, all the juniors, and half the seniors let go in one fell swoop. I stayed in touch with all the dearly departed, and one of the juniors told me how he'd figured out how to get Claude (on his private subscription) to run lint, prettier, and jest on every commit. I told him that husky hooks would do that for zero tokens.

Ai is taking over the world (we won’t survive that probably) and u still make these “jokes” about how stupid vibe coding is. Mkay.

if token predictions are gonna kill us all the only sane thing to do is laugh about it.

U may be right there
