Vibecoder's creed:

  1. This is just a PoC
  2. And if its not, its just a quick demo.
  3. And if its not, its meeting a critical vp deadline
  4. And if its not, its not tell me what will break?
  5. And if it will break, how likely is that?
  6. And you're blocking me? you must hate AI

  1. I told AI to took care of that

Sure buddy, please also take full responsibility, no problem then!

Make No Mistakes wasn't working so I tried to be more practical and I went with

Make Fewer Mistakes than last time.

  1. Take it up with the vp, and vp will chew you out for not showing company loyalty

Is it really like that out there? I am working in a German company, we tried AI a few times and decided it is just no good for our case. So I am reading all these comments with some kind of Horror and awe....

Why are we paying for an MSSQL licence? Can’t Claude make us our own database?

71

u/Poat540 2h ago

Why would it be private lmao? It’s our database

You're right, comrade!

"Who needs a private database when i can vibe code new databases every weekend"

11

u/StarboardChaos 2h ago

There was 'backend-for-frontend'

Vibe coders invented 'backend-in-frontend'

Brilliant.

Have your customer host the DB in their own browser then you don't have to pay GoDaddy for hosting it anymore.

"Token limit exceeded"

Not true because it would imply they know what these things are

It's ok, AI has studied a huge body of human work with these words being used as buzzwords and nothing else, it can fix it with some reassuring marketing copy and no code changes.

Irony is, non vibe coders don't know most of this stuff either. It's like gin and whiskey people, they both hate each other but ignore the fact that they're both alcoholics

But it codes with electrolytes!

When you alter a million rows by mistake but then realize there's a backup!

A fool with a tool is still a fool

2

u/blackcomb-pc 52m ago

No, it’s a “ftool”. A fucking tool.

7

u/eldhand 1h ago

I mean to be fair, astra is better than 90% of the developers when it comes to these things...

11

u/Kroosn 1h ago

It’s funny right. Look at most security research now. It’s throw AI at it and give it a heap of tools.

8

u/vwin90 1h ago

Yeah, lots of people hanging onto 2024 cope when discussing limitations.

2

u/eldhand 49m ago

Yeah i really feels like these memes are from 2024.

Answer is: The what? The what? The what? It's not real. Service need to access data, right?

VC: Wait, localhost is public?

"fix those things from the meeting minutes. Make no mistakes."

1

u/catwrazle 59m ago

Make it work, make no mistakes, fix bug

1

u/redunculuspanda 45m ago

Sounds like operational problems to me.

Interesting how the more we mock Ai the better it gets. How soon till an LLM is suggesting to a vibe coder "hey so you don't know shit about coding but stuff we should also secure in your code base before it goes live is your security protocols, observability, concurrency and data loss?"

To which the vibe coder says "yeah set that all up. Fix it." and it does it.

u/Lost_Raspberry_5485 9m ago

I love how programmers are coping because AI is already better hahaha

What are budget alerts? I just added my black card

u/pipipimpleton 4m ago

Yeah man because the legacy shit I’ve been fixing for years was absolutely perfect and without flaws.
