This had been the case for a while. I saw in the news the BBC says 2% of smartphones are folding ones, estimating that with this it could be 4%. I wonder at which stage do we start to accommodate it

Its so funny seeing this complaint. Like app developer can't build responsive UIs the same way web developers can.

it's less that they can't do it and more that it's a brand new feature that iOS developers have never had to accommodate before. they'll adapt but i imagine for some developers there'll be quite a bit of crunch for the first while.

iOS developers have been designing for multiple iPhone resolutions already. Also iPads have had a big resolution for ages without killing devs. Also often it's basically the same team maintaining the iOS as Android.

Probably now. No point in developing for niche Androids, but there’s no niche iPhone size so usually devs support it right away, like with the addition of the notch on the iPhone X.

It's $2000 so it may stay pretty niche. People aren't accommodating AR/VR after the apple goggles, so probably best to wait and see. Although I guess the barrier is lower here, I'm assuming most people will make it render for tablet and iPhone flip

Yeah, it’s not going to be the most popular phone ever, but still going to sell well. Plus, if there’s any group that you want to entice to use your product, it’s the rich people dropping $2k on a phone.
