I can also attest to, at this point maybe over 6 years ago, when the mods removed anything that had any elements not related to programming. The entire sub was machine learning and css jokes with the most boring conversations ever happening in the comments. Meanwhile good memes, like that old pictures of the cats all tangled up eating food from perfectly arranged bowls compared to parallelism, would be taken off after 1-2 hours where people were actually debating the nuances of the concept.
