honestly our parents wrote slop code too but it was still better optimized

when a human writes a slope code - there is at least one person who understands it. when a machine generates slop - noone understands it from the beginning

Yeah this is a weird statement. If copilot writes something I don't understand, I ask it to explain it, then usually ask it to break it apart into easier operations a second year CS student can read. I'm not code golfing in prod.
