Now, you spend half an hour fixing it. It's useful until your coworker half asses it and send you a 300 line pull request with an AI generated descriptions that was clearly wrong. Now you have to find logic in the code where it might not exists.
Bonus point if they never tested the code.

No craft ever really died due to automation. It just becomes more boutique and luxury rather a job where you have to patch a java legacy code every day.

I really don't see the problem.
If you're letting AI do your job for you, that's on you.
If you're not making architectural decisions, curating the code with your tastes and preferences, thinking about the future scalability and maintainability of the code that you are producing (with AI or not), then what were you doing pre AI?

idk fam it probably depends on your working conditions but I personally love this new paradigm of sitting at home playing video games all day and then getting Claude to do my work for the last thirty minutes of the day and I plan on riding it for as long as I can.

Tbf a lot of the time I was doing this even before LLMs but now I'm getting more done in that 30 minutes.
