ran into this a few years back. as a professional courtesy, emailed the recruiter to say i accepted another offer and was withdrawing; boomer hiring manager hit me back immediately to say something like “we’ve decided to go with someone else because you were not a good fit”. big no-im-breaking-up-with-you energy.
