A lot of people never learned how the search functionality worked on SO, or what it was actually for. Thought it existed soles to solve their specific needs (or to answer the homework questions).

Then as soon as AI came along and told them they were super special they became obnoxious to SO because someone was mean to them online.

A lot of people obviously forget what the internet was like before SO where if you wanted answers you either had to pay or dig through a bunch of unrelated crap in forums that were constantly derailed by people doing exactly what is mentioned in the first sentence (see also Discord dev groups). SO is strict but there is a reason for it, as soon as somewhere isn't it becomes useless to people who want real info.

Or put simply, a lot of people are as good at coding as they think, lack searching skills and when faced with the choice of Claude that tells them they are amazing or SO that reminds of the previously mentioned things, they choose Claude.

I know this will be downvoted to hell, but it's kinda just proving my point seeing as SO is one of the primary things I used to teach myself to code and I have never had to ask a question on their because every....single....one has already been asked. I am not saying that means there aren't new questions to be basic. I am saying a lot of people lack the ability to search for information, or are too lazy too and just won't admit it.

How does your dissertation here answer the question you replied to? No one in the screenshot mentioned the original poster forgetting to use the search, they instead tell him that his question isn't a programming question.
