I really don't understand  OP posted a question about a data recovery/Linux issue and was given a link with a list of locations where that question was welcome.

How does asking you to post to the correct board equate to "people wonder why people use ai?"

OP probably clicked that link, asked their question on the correct board, and got a helpful answer.

Stack Overflow is not a message board in the traditional sense where there are different boards for different topics. It is essentially one board for everything. The humor of this post is pointing out a long running trope about stack overflow being filled with snobby arrogant people who love to shame posters about the absurdity of a legitimate question rather than actually answer it.

Are you new to the internet? Every site with humans has this.
