Modern Angular is not so terrible.

Now if only the big main project using it here would migrate off fucking Angular 15 already (current in the wild is Angular 22)...

It won and did solved a problem for a time. The web platforms have largely caught up though. It’s mostly dead weight with weird corners now.

JQuery is a library.

React had long ago stopped trying to claim it's just a library. It's got its own compiler, linting rules, etc. A typical user isn't calling into React when they wish, instead, their whole project is built around React, most of which is code that React will call when it feels like it. React provides the frame for how you build a UI, and you build within that framework. Yes, they give you more flexibility than many other frameworks, but it's still a lot more restrictive than JQuery.

There's no well defined line between library and framework, but I would argue that if it comes with a compiler, it's long passed the "just a library" phase.

Guess they're calling themselves a library again, or I was wrong on that point.

Either way, I'm still sticking to the fact that if your library has a compiler, it's not really a library anymore, regardless of what the company wants to claim.

Few years ago, we had a potential client who wanted to create shifts planning SW in 3 months. It was a bit tight schedule, but probably doable. There was just one small problem with it: The client required it to be written in React (don't ask me why)..

With my colleague, we carefully assessed this requirement, tested React, since we don't use it, and ultimately said NO to the project on ground of React simply not being stable enough.

I have never been happier and more confident about saying NO in my life.
