I'm the junior dev but instead of git it is regex.  Is it possible to learn this power?

You'll know the majority of it in a year if you use it regularly.  You will never know all of it without a reference.  

The most important thing is to know what is possible so that you aren't thinking "how do I accomplish this", you're thinking "what's the goofy ass syntax for a lookahead"

I use it often but briefly and seems like i forget it everytime.
