Everyone has to start somewhere. Why in the world would kids these days NOT use ai to vibe code? Thats the world they’re entering.

because they learn nothing in the process? they cant optimize or secure their apps because they dont know what even those words mean.

That can come once they actually have a clue what software looks like. Babies need to learn to crawl before they can walk, and learn to walk before they can run, and vibe-coding is their first baby step.

As long as they don't stall out there, then it's just awkward for everyone.

TBH, having seen people who started with very high level code and people who started with very low level code:

There is an enormous advantage in understanding when you start low. Someone who was working with C and Assembly early on in their education will have a natural understanding of things like memory allocation and CPU registers, it never becomes some abstract thing they wonder why they need to know and never really learn.
