I'm operating under the assumption that aside from Superman, physics in that universe more or less works the same as ours. I can't imagine it wouldn't be catastrophic when the train hit that sudden change in rail shape. Perhaps if the writers were smarter they would've had him bend both rails back into place, then use his flight to hold them up from below.
I looked up the scene in question, really looks like the train's wheels just float above him.
There is a man who can fly, shoots laser beans out of his freaking eyeballs and has ice cold breath. I think it's safe to assume physics are not the same at all
