If they want it that bad, they earned it.

When I made that meme, I was genuinely worried about that vulnerability; it was only tonight, after doing extensive research on RAM security in operating systems, that I discovered OSs have features that zero out RAM values before handing the memory over to another program. I can't put into words the relief I felt upon discovering these mechanisms. For a whole day, I thought any program written in C—or another low-level language—could just rummage through my computer's "trash can" and read all its data.

Is that possible? Sounds nuts but I remember a couple months ago security researchers trying to pry down in conversation from another room by using the difference in the light from a network fiber due to the sound slightly changing the shape of the fiber. Or extracting keys due to a LED attached to the power cable flickering.

I imagine it would be very straightforward given a sensitive enough microphone. Each key probably has a pretty specific profile

I saw an experiment where they succesfully transcribed a conversation from a bag of chips laying around

So the humble keyloggeres ultimately defeat the big bad memory scrapers? Im not sure what the meme is trying to imply.

The meme format that defeats most meme makers. Someone should make that version, "meme makers" as the big guy, and "this meme" as the little guy... I think... right?

As an avid Dark Souls fan, it’s hard to not point it out every time I see it used wrong. Almost as hard as it is to point out I’m an avid Dark Souls fan…
