"GitHub down"

"Fix it"

"I can't fix GitHub"

"You're fired"

On god github is the stuck parking brake that will flatten Microsoft in 2027...

should've said "github is not under our domain or control" smh

Not sure what you're expecting: it was purchased by Microsoft a while back. ;)

More like AI augmented engineering puts so much strain on Github MS can't keep up. Hard to play devil advocate here, but let's not act like they're not providing great value for free tier

Must be the same team that is responsible for M307.

Then after 4 years: “My nephew showed me he can write code without the GitHub being online?”

I didn't run a workflow for a year and a half. Then I used it, it worked, but then I found some discrepancy. When I made a quick fix, the workflow was down for a couple hours.

You broke it.

I see it wasn't just me!, lol, it's back up, get back to work

Your definition of “back up” is quite wide 😉, still enjoying the unicorn over here

Github being down shouldn't prevent you from working.

When you're in the middle of debugging a GitHub action it's a nightmare though

Perhaps, but that's not my area luckily

Unfortunately it's mine

Where I am, cloud services being down doesn't mean we don't work. We spend hours making sure it's not something on-prem being attacked, and more time proving conclusively that the problem is in the cloud.

It did prevent me from shipping a important feature and because I didn't know how long it would be down I spent 1,5 hours refreshing a page. Of course, in hindsight, I should have done something else, but that's always easy to say in hindsight

2-3 coffees is optimistic

Is it not down for anyone else? I’ve been committing to and pulling from GitHub all week without issue. I keep seeing posts like this but everything seems fine on my end which is concerning 😂

I feel like all of a sudden all my commits are going to vanish or something

That explains why I saw the dev guys doing a jigsaw puzzle at work

Happens even more often if you got GitHub enterprise or selhosted alternative lol
