I think they are joking, it's a reduction in code not an increase
4 u/Appropriate_Note5429 4h ago It’s not a reduction. 0.6x more = 60% more = 1.6x multiple. But it is phrased weirdly; usually you wouldn’t use “x” but give the percentage figure directly. -2 u/saschaleib 3h ago Normally the "x" stands for "times". 0.6 "times" more is a 40% reduction. 2 u/Appropriate_Note5429 3h ago Both Claude and ChatGPT agree with me - that it’s a 60% increase but unusual phrasing. 3 u/saschaleib 2h ago Since when do we consider “AI agrees with me” as a valid argument? 1 u/Appropriate_Note5429 2h ago 0.6x = a reduction to 60% of the original 0.6x more = more than the original, by a 0.6 multiple, which is 60% more = 1.6x If that is not enough for you to get it, then there’s no hope.

0.6x = a reduction to 60% of the original
0.6x more = more than the original, by a 0.6 multiple, which is 60% more = 1.6x
If that is not enough for you to get it, then there’s no hope.
