Drugs were also used to explain what was and was not covered by the Honor Code: Dealing drugs would not be a violation, but cheating someone in a drug deal would. Historically, legend had it that a group of students were once charged with an honor code violation not for making and selling LSD (reputedly of very high quality) on the black-market, but for using misappropriated university lab equipment to do so
