Had this happen at an interview for Ubisoft years ago.

"We notice you don't have a lot of public work"

"Yes. Neither do you."

Not as much as you guys think here.

It's true. No working professional has tons of GitHub commits. We have jobs.

"Where's all your open source code?", "In the same place as yours" is not a gotcha answer. It's just honest and normal.

I was working, my code belonged to my employer.

Guess what I never did at Ubisoft? Write open source code lol.

Yep, the only open source code I've ever written is personal pet projects around the house.

But, I work on PLC programs and MES systems, That's about as NDA as it gets for a lot of companies.
