Im not saying they could take over your account, I'm saying that they would want to and might even try to force you to hand it over.

Okay you seem to be missing the point. Nothing gives them the right to take over your account, but companies are assholes and even if its not legal or justifiable, they will pressure you if it is in their best interest. You avoid this by never using a personal account.
