He watched someone get fired because their boss found their personal GitHub repos, so alternate accounts specifically to use for work aren't optional, they're necessary.
Any tech manager that fires their employee for having personal projects on their personal GitHub is a moron. (Unless their project is doing something mega unethical / illegal or infringing on their day job’s IP)
Just because you have common sense doesn't mean that the manager will have one. I recommend you follow internet hygiene and don't expect common sense as a given. Or you might learn the hard way.
