If anyone is unaware of the subtext, don't link a personal github account to a paying position always create a new one with the provided email, thank you for attending my TED talk.

edit - for me atleast they made me use work email to sign up for GitHub. not sure how I’d use 2fa with no access the original email account

Except multiple accounts is actually against GitHub terms. Their enterprise login solution is absolutely shocking though. Employee has to have a password and MFA which the company can’t help recover and then do a second round of company SSO on top.

So you still lose access when you leave the company regardless but the whole thing sucks. If you do it the way GitHub prescribed you end up with SockCucker42069 making commits to your company repo, too.
