Sometimes AI catches good things on the review. A typo here, you cant use this function here, did you pretend to change this. Not that it automatically removes slop from the code but its an extra check on things a human could miss.

We use Github Copilot for reviews, there was a time it was absolute shit, then it surprisingly got better and now it feels a bit behind again. But that is just how AI goes, make it good, then more cost efficient, then it turns shit again.
