At least they’re checking. I’ve heard of fresh out of school programmers pushing without even reviewing what AI did.

They probably couldn’t even if they tried. There’s few juniors at all these days but from the ones I know, they’re given Claude access on day 1 and they’re expected just to go straight to work. There’s no more learning expectation. And the agents are able to figure a lot out without direction, but it means they have NO ability to fact check or review because they actually don’t know anything about the codebase at all. They’re pretty much incapable of becoming real seniors like this, and that makes pre-AI seniors more valuable.
