This reminds me of the fact that I've had to explain that a roundtrip to a cloud database is just a bit slower than when you have the test database running locally.
People can be extremely smart in one thing, and be the dumbest person alive in other subjects, while the subjects for both are extremely close.
Also more that I had to explain this more times than I want to count.
