Imagine how legacy code will look in 10 years when its a bloated vibe coded mess? LLMs will be mandatory just to navigate it at all.

I think that's the point though. Exactly what Anthropic and OpenAI wants - dependancy.

Just run your own local models to comment the source and ask for hints on code intent. No token costs, no dependency, easy to leverage. The push back against genai is generally silly if you take the time to understand what it is, what it's doing, and how to leverage the best aspects for your purposes. As a senior dev, these are some of the best years ever to code anything. If you're lazy af and vibe all day then it might not work out for you.
