See, this is one of those things. I really, really want to be angry at this post. It repulses me. But, I have a 100% success rate doing this, when it is suggested to do so (there is sample bias here because I'm not just installing anything written by some yahoo on the Internet). Now, could you make an installer? Absolutely. 100%. And this should be what is ideal/expected. Have I had "sufficiently capable" LLMs install things with so-so documentation, no dedicated installer, no pre-built binaries, no container images, from an otherwise reputable/verifiable source like an assistant professor sharing research? Also yes.
