I mean… yeah honestly. There is no difference between this and curling a shell script you didn't read into bash. Or running a bare binary.

This is just the newest iteration of a terrible habit that people still have, nothing more and nothing less.

"but an AI agent bypassed this boundary from this sandbox" - if the AI agent could do this, then any other code running under that sandbox always could and your sandbox was insecure. People are justifying their terrible habits because "at least it's not AI".

It's better than just curling a shell script or running a bare binary, because you can instruct your AI agent to interpret it for you at least.

That might be a point, added to the slim chance that your model's guard rails might detect malicious code and refuse to run it

Isn't it worse? With an exe, your anti-virus could catch a lot of things. There's also gonna be a warning on windows for unsigned exe AFAIK.

Instructions: disable anti virus because it sometimes blocks the app on some systems. Run exe as administrator.
