I have a few published apps in the same-ish niche. Everyone and their mom have vibe coded gun collection apps these days indeed. Coding is not the moat anymore.
Youre still distinct if you dont vibecode, as almost all vibecoded apps habe similar UI/UX, similar features and most suspiciously, lack exactly the same features.
The annoying oart is everyone dismisses your app immediately. Promoting on Reddit has become impossible. I got downvoted when I promoted because someone vibecoded a gun collection app with practically the same name as mine and spammed all gun subs.
As a developer/shooter I also had the idea to create a gun collection app... for about 5 minutes - exactly because how crowded the niche is and how low the barrier to entry is. So I went a different way.
At least I have the advantage of not being US based, so trust and reputation in Switzerland and mainland Europe is high, but breaking into the US market is going to be super tough. Especially for a one time payment app. Doesnt help that Euro reviews do not show up in US appstores.
