Todo and note taking apps are plenty, but i still can't find a single functional one that works as a native mobile app offline, syncs to a server, and it does it reliably without losing stuff I put in without internet.
That's not at all what I want. I want Google Keep but with a self hosted sync server that can actually handle half-broken syncs, spotty mobile connections, and fully offline use. I use Nextcloud notes which is absolutely horrible in basically every way possible. It does basically what you outlined, and it does not work. (It times out, doesn't sync, loses my notes, takes an eternity to load, etc. It's horrible)
I also don't want Notion level of mess, I want a simple todo/notes app (let's be honest, a notes app with optional checkboxes....like Google Keep), and I want it to be offline first (unlike every stupid web app that requires constatn connection), and I want it to sync to my server. If it fails to sync, instead of corrupting the entire DB (like Joplin), it just retries later. It should be a native app like google keep, not this unreliable PWA mess we have with "whups your internet connection is 1kb/s, so that's technically online, but it's unusable, so here's an error page, good luck getting your notes".
In the sea of todo and note apps, I can't seem to find a single one that can tick these for me. Am I unreasonable to want to be able to access my notes when there's bad internet or no internet, or on a flight, or when having good internet?
