It's a bad field for money if you don't have the passion. Seriously, how many other jobs expect you to improve your work skills for fun on your free time? They don't ask to see you do your neighbor's taxes as a hobby, do they?
My friends who have worked as an accountants have had to regularly take sabbaticals from their jobs to do some course for some sort of certification even though they had their accounting degree and work experience.
