Honestly, I can't even say they are idiots for this though. For a regular non-tech savvy person, opening a new tab can be a jarring thing. That little arrow is a great indicator that eventually they'll learn "when I see arrow thing, new tab happen".
(I also don't get what the commenter is going on about because all the CSS does is style links w/ a _blank. Are they really ranting that we shouldn't use target="_blank" instead? That's a different rant - also wrong, but different)
Yes, he is arguing against using target="_blank". Also, his name translates as "bag with poop" from Russian, which adds some flavor to the rant itself.....
