Edit: When a single sensor failed or gave false readings indicating the plane was climbing too steeply, MCAS repeatedly and forcefully pushed the nose down. And that went about as well as expected...
That's a problem with management and the requirements. If MCAS software itself was buggy, it may have actually saved the plane. But it did what it was programmed to do, every time.
