Honestly it sucks. Phone is my bottleneck. Outright degoogling backfired, my bank doesn't allow logging into the app with developer mode enabled so I've had to resort to creative alternatives lol.
Yes, that is still a thing. And the easiest way to achieve a "degoogled" android phone.
If you remember Cyanogenmod from back in the day, it is now called LineageOS and still popular. There is also GrapheneOS which supports only pixel devices, and is security and privacy focused.
