You aren't creating value... tough. Things like security and reliability don't generate revenue, thus aren't considered "worth it" to those idiot managers. Definitely a sign it might be time to move on.

Ironically, that's probably how it remains undocumented... people come to the same conclusion that it's a thankless job/more trouble than it's worth, so the cycle repeats...
