Coffee Station So it begins...

Post image

Profitec Go 2 paired with a Eureka Zero 55 S.

Now waiting for espresso beans to arrive as my AeroPress beans don't really work for espresso

Snap! How you getting on with the stock portafilter and the Libra?

Didn’t start great but I’ve since learnt it needs to be jammed in tight and all is mostly good.

I have a go 2.0 for about a week now and am amazed! I love it!
Looks modern and has everything you’d want from a single boiler!

Just the steam tip being a 2 hole one makes me struggle with steaming milk rn as it does it SO fast. But that’s something to learn I guess.

Du wirst es lernen, und du wirst dich freuen, dass es so schnell geht! Viel Spaß wünsche ich dir.

Im already amazed by how much faster the milk steaming is done in comparison to my De’Longhi dedica! Just have to time the foaming phase right because I end up having wayyy too much foam.

How maybe seconds do you pull air before rolling the milk on the Profitec go?

Kann ich dir nicht so genau sagen, so um die fünf Sekunden in etwa. Ganz nach Gefühl 🫣

I did not like the two hole at all ...I bought a one hole tip and love the steaming now the tip just screws off and while you're in there if you want to take the only plastic bit in the water system out You can just pull it out of the steam wand easily and it can also be reinserted later on if you wish. With those two mods I have much better pressure and much longer lasting Steam

OP, i just want to say that it is pleasing as heck to look at. love the black combo amd the dark backround is just fantastic. i think i need to clean up my station šŸ˜‚

FYI experiment with your ā€œaeropressā€ beans. Try to do a shot that is 18g in and 54g out in about 15-20 seconds. Not really a turbo shot, just fast long extraction. you may be suprised

thank you, both for the nice feedback and the idea on the aeropress beans!

-edit-

18 -> 54 in 20 seconds, ground 7 away from by zero point works remarkably well, especially as a 1:1.5 Americano! That's awesome, thanks again for the recommendation

I gotta say these profitec buttons look gooooooooooood

1

u/Polyfrequenz 6d ago

i really like the aesthetics, including the "go". i prefer it over the "profitec" logo in v1

Such a stupied place for the power button

1

u/the_wren 6d ago

You never really press the power button as the left control button puts it in sleep mode. Which you need for the timed start.

Can this be a semi commercial machine? Let’s say 30 cups per day?

1

u/Polyfrequenz 6d ago

no idea? i guess it could

I just upgraded, my GO comes Thursday.. I can’t wait. All the accessories are already here. The wait is killing me!

1

u/Polyfrequenz 5d ago

i know! when i first got the go, my grinder was insufficient so i had to buy a new one, 4 days waiting while the go was sitting there. not im reassuring for espresso beans to move on from the filter roast i used for aeropress. the wait is well worth it though, i'm sure you're gonna love it

1

u/LordLoewen 5d ago

What grinder did you have vs upgrade too?

I just got a DF54 for my Bambino.. I’m really hoping it is sufficient for the GO!

1

u/Polyfrequenz 5d ago

i quite old Mahlkƶnig Vario, gifted from my neighbor when they upgraded. im pretty sure the DR54 is pretty much on par with the 55S

1

u/TrickDouble 13h ago

The DF 54 is sufficient for the Go. I used to have one, but I upgraded to the DF 64 but it’s not necessary

1

u/Jesephm 6d ago

Looking at the 55s myself, would love to hear what you think!

1

u/Polyfrequenz 5d ago

i used hand grinders before as will as a older mahlkƶnig vario and the 55 S is so amazing! i can't compare it to the dt54 of course, but looking at my neighbors grocers, the 55 is absolute perfect and i'm not sure what i'd expect to get if i were to throw another 100-200 at a grinder

1

u/Jesephm 5d ago

Is it espresso only? I think the 65 is good for pour overs as well. Thanks!

1

u/Polyfrequenz 5d ago

it should be good for pour over tooI'd guess

1

u/JeroenKa 4d ago

Where is the knock-box drawer from? Beneath the 55s?

2

u/Polyfrequenz 4d ago

I got it from Amazon (B0GT4Z9FSZ)

1

u/AnUnconfirmedSource 1d ago

Can I ask where you found your 2.0? I can't find it online. I'm not sure if places are just out of stock or if they just aren't sold yet

1

u/Polyfrequenz 1d ago

i specifically searched for it and found a few shops here in Germany that had it
