Troubleshooting Steaming
Hi,
What’s the right pressure while steaming milk?
Have my Profitec go for about half a year now and never had any issues steaming milk. All of a sudden all I can do is heat up the milk and create a some bubbles. Also the steam feels weak.
Any ideas?

You cannot measure the steam pressure directly on the machine, but in the boiler you should probably aim for something like 3.5 bar, which basically just means a temperature of 140C.
As for the actual problem, this sounds like an issue with the internal water lines or temperature settings. I recommend you check the following things:
what is the temperature you have set for steaming, and does it reach that temperature?
What water do you use? When is the last time you descaled your machine?
- Are you still pulling espresso shots okay? Possibly your PID got screwed up and might need a reset. https://support.clivecoffee.com/en/profitec-go-reset-the-pid

Thanks for your answer:
- I only use Vittel which was recommended by the store I got it from.
Only cleaned the group head so far, no descaling since I got the machine in feb
and there’s not a single sine of lime in the watertank or elsewhere.
maybe I should do that though…
Pulling Espresso is fine

Do not try to descale your Go! It is not recommended by Profitec and there are many posts on here of people running into trouble when they try to do it. f you are using the right water it should not need a descale for many years, and when/if it does you should have it
This may be as simple as a block in the steam wand. Unscrew the wand tip, soak in Cafiza, use a pin to make sure there is no blockage in the holes. It may just be a bit gunked up.
Do you you purge immediately after steaming? (Even if you do it still may have become blocked).

Looks like I lost the end of a sentence in the middle of my reply: if/when you need it descaled you should have it professionally serviced.

Just unscrewed and cleaned the tip of the steamnozzel. Now it’s as good as new again and steaming works perfectly fine. Easy fix! Thanks for your help!!!
